Closure of party centre on Rhôneweg

Amsterdam mayor Femke Halsema ordered a party centre on Rhôneweg closed for three months following a shooting on its dance floor on 6 September and an assault in the night of 23 to 24 October, in which a woman was seriously injured. Bystanders hindered emergency workers after the assault, and police needed substantial deployment to restore order and reach the victim.
The operator had discussed preventive measures with authorities after the shooting, but Halsema said the short interval between the incidents, along with other incidents at or near the venue over the past year that required frequent police attendance, created a real risk of further violence and serious danger to public order. She said the incidents indicated a possible pattern connected to the venue's operation.
