Closure of Slotermeer home after explosion and firearm discovery

Mayor Halsema closed a home on Jan Cupidhof in Amsterdam's Slotermeer district for three months after an explosion at its central entrance on 13 October. One person was injured by flying glass. Police later received an anonymous tip about the suspected target and searched the resident's home on 15 October.

Officers found a loaded firearm, ammunition and 10 nitrous oxide cylinders, one of them full. Police see a real risk of another incident, partly because of the weapon discovery, and the closure is intended to prevent the home from becoming a target again while the investigation continues.
