Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema ordered the immediate closure for three months of a storage unit on Jan Vrijmanstraat in IJburg. Police had found an automatic firearm, a handgun, ammunition and seven Cobra fireworks devices there during a search on 28 September.
The closure applies only to the storage unit, not to the associated home. The mayor cited fears of a serious disturbance of public order and said the measure was intended to restore calm and remove the items from the criminal circuit.
