Climate Analytics report on limiting warming to 1.7 degrees

Researchers at Climate Analytics concluded in a report that global warming could theoretically be halted around 2050 at about 1.7 degrees above pre-industrial levels. This would require fossil fuels including oil, gas and coal to be phased down as quickly as possible, while emissions of methane and other relatively short-lived greenhouse gases are addressed immediately.
