A tent camp at Emperor Charles Square in Nijmegen was cleared on Monday by maintenance workers, police officers and employees of waste disposal company Dar, after the number of tents had reportedly increased considerably. The homeless people returned soon afterward.

The municipality said the park is now cleaned about twice a week, but people continue to return after the cleanups.
