A citizen movement encouraged Arab Israelis to vote in Tuesday’s election. About two million of Israel’s roughly ten million residents are Arab Israelis, some of whom identify as Palestinian, and they have traditionally gone to the polls less often than Jewish Israelis.

The movement said it had seen more suspicion, less trust and more racism in recent years, and argued that the political situation could motivate greater turnout among Arab Israelis.
