Cigdem Karadurmus, 45, said that her husband, Fatih, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease four years ago at the age of 39. He moved to a nursing home two years ago to receive appropriate care and died of the brain disease last May.

The account said Karadurmus no longer recognized her own husband as his illness progressed.
