Former professional footballer Christian Gandu, 34, is returning to the field two years after fighting for his life and undergoing a successful kidney transplant. Doctors had told him he might never play football again.

Gandu hopes to return as a footballer in Houten. He said he would probably cry intensely if he was able to step onto the field again.
