Swimming pool De Banakker in Etten-Leur was evacuated after a chlorine gas leak on Tuesday morning. A mechanic working in the basement became unwell and was treated outside in an ambulance; his condition is unclear and he is to be taken to hospital.

The pool remains closed while firefighters ventilate the building and deal with the leak.
