The event grounds at the Kluunpad in Zeewolde have been designated for a central fireworks show during the New Year celebrations. Dream Fireworks from Enschede is expected to stage the show, which is planned to last 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the weather. The company said it was selected after the municipality requested offers from several companies.

The municipality has made €50,000 available for the professional show, intended to offer residents an alternative to setting off fireworks themselves. A national ban on consumer fireworks is expected to apply for the first time during the coming New Year period.
