Cees Smit, 60, who worked as a stockbroker and options specialist, bought a special satirical book about the stock exchange for 25 guilders. He had been involved in several stock market crashes, including the 1987 crash and the bursting of the dot-com bubble around the beginning of this century, and used the book to look back on those periods.
