Catherine Keyl joined this year’s Christmas theatre production by cabaret performers Rayen Panday and Nabil Aoulad Ayad. The former talk-show host, who turns 80 on Saturday, is due to appear on stage in all performances.

Catherine Keyl said she now feels better than she did when she was 20 and is less troubled by feeling old. Looking at old photographs, she questioned why she had been so insecure about her appearance and said she now considers herself a pleasant person. She also recalled that, four months into her marriage, her husband had already been unfaithful and that she had then wanted to end her life.
