A man stole a car from its owner at the Stormhoek industrial park in Zaandam shortly after 5 p.m. on October 5, threatening the victim with an iron pipe. He returned soon afterward and drove the stolen car through a steel gate. Police stopped him near the car after bystanders called them. The suspect is a 29-year-old man from Poland. A drug test showed that the suspect was under the influence of narcotics, while he refused to cooperate with a blood test at the police station. He remains in custody for questioning and further investigation.
