A car left a bend on Putendijk in Eersel on Saturday night and struck a tree. No other traffic was involved, and the vehicle was severely damaged and later removed by a recovery company.

The occupant was injured and treated at the scene. One report identified the injured person as a passenger, while a later report described the victim as the driver; it remains unclear whether the person was taken to hospital. Firefighters were initially called because the person might have been trapped, but the victim had already got out of the car when they arrived.
