A campaign against threats and intimidation of local politicians was held at the Marktplein in Hengelo. It included a special talking pole through which people could leave encouraging messages for politicians. The action highlighted that threats and intimidation of local politicians are becoming commonplace, despite not being acceptable. One report said that nearly half of local politicians experience threats or intimidation.
