Cabinet plans expected to lead 10 to 30 percent of farmers to quit

The cabinet’s agriculture, nature and nitrogen policy is expected to have a major impact on farmers. Research by Wageningen Social and Economic Research, commissioned by the Ministry, estimated that 10 to 30 percent of farmers would quit their farms in the long term. The plans mainly concern medium-sized farms, and food security is not considered to be at risk.
