Bryan Ruiz was appointed coach of Costa Rica, with qualification for the 2030 World Cup as his main task. The former Costa Rica captain had served as interim coach after Argentine Fernando Batista was dismissed in September.

Ruiz led Costa Rica in Nations League wins over Nicaragua and Haiti earlier this month. The country’s next matches are friendlies against Ecuador and Argentina in November.
