Twelve employees of Brownies&downieS performed for an audience on Thursday evening at the Corneel pop stage in Lelystad. They usually work in the lunch café’s kitchen or behind the bar. The performers arrived on a red carpet in a Hummer and were taken backstage before the show. Among the visitors was the grandfather of one of the performers, who had travelled from Leiden.

The event was initiated by Fleur Sankoh as a follow-up to an earlier concert in the lunch café, which had sold out within half an hour. One of the performers, Ricky, sang “If I Could Go Back in Time”, with the audience singing along. He said he would like to perform every month; Sankoh said the performances could become a recurring event.
