Eighteen event organizations in Breda joined forces to oppose a planned 112 percent increase in the municipal event fee. In a letter to the city council, they called for full transparency about the increase and asked for its implementation to be suspended for now. The organizers said the municipality should first explain how the additional revenue will be used before discussing an approach they consider healthy, explainable and sustainable for both the city and event organizers.
