Gerard, a blind resident of Hoofddorp, devised Braille plates to distinguish underground waste containers independently. The idea arose after the shared waste container at his apartment was replaced by underground containers farther down the street, making it difficult for him to identify the containers for organic waste, residual waste and PCD.
