A minor boy who fell into a ditch along the Aalsmeerweg in Aalsmeer on Monday evening died in hospital, after emergency services pulled him from the water and resuscitated him. Police said there was no indication that he was the victim of a crime, but it remains unclear how he ended up in the ditch.

The Aalsmeerweg was temporarily closed while police investigated the incident.
