Borsele residents can sign up to receive a free bat provision in their homes, intended to give the protected animals places to roost as homes become better insulated. Separately, the municipality is awaiting a €750,000 provincial subsidy for new housing on the Postweg in Lewedorp. Borsele says the funding is crucial to cleaning up heavily polluted soil at the site, where the homes are wanted.
