Border controls led to 650 refusals over two years

After two years of border controls, 650 people described as undesirable foreigners were reportedly refused entry, representing 0.35% of the 182,700 people checked. The Marechaussee still conducts mobile surveillance along the border, including near Venlo, where the operation was examined and Minister Bart van den Brink was asked about the checks.

The controls were described as more unpredictable than before, raising the question of whether they have a deterrent effect.
