Boat traffic between the Oosterschelde and the Zoommeer was halted after a technical malfunction put the Bergse Diepsluis out of use. According to Rijkswaterstaat, a basement containing equipment had filled with salt water, preventing sailing yachts and motorboats from passing in either direction.
