Boat collision on the Congo River

◆1 source

At least 30 people were reported killed and dozens were missing after two wooden motorboats collided on the Congo River in Congo the previous night. One boat was traveling from Ubangi in the northwest toward Kinshasa, while the other was traveling from Kinshasa toward Lukolela. The cause of the collision was unclear. An eyewitness said the Ubangi-bound boat was carrying too much cargo and that most passengers from the other boat went underwater after it sank. The Regional Secretary of the Interior said the search for the missing was ongoing and that the victims who died had already been buried.
