The Beverwijk Fire Department collected several thousand euros for the Dutch Burns Foundation through “The Haunted Firehouse,” a haunted-house event held at the Beverwijk-Oost fire station. Nearly 400 visitors entered the barracks in groups, while firefighters and volunteers played possessed and frightening characters. The event was initiated by firefighter Sander Bel and has now ended.

The fundraiser was part of a series of national actions for 3FM Serious Request in December. The money is intended to help renew the child burn centre in Beverwijk, while 3FM aims to raise millions of euros for the foundation through the campaign.
