Barcelona defeated close rivals Real Madrid 7-0 at Camp Nou on Sunday evening. Claudia Pina scored four goals in the first half, while Dutch internationals Esmee Brugts and Renee van Asten started for Barcelona. The match was Van Asten’s first appearance at Camp Nou. The 19-year-old central defender had returned the previous Wednesday after several weeks out with an injury. Brugts was selected for the Netherlands’ World Cup qualifying matches and was due to report to the team in Zeist, while Van Asten was not selected.
