The Royal Military Academy installed rolls of barbed wire along the fence at Breda Castle on Cingelstraat after several incidents in which people climbed over the relatively low gate. The academy did not disclose the nature of the incidents, which reportedly occurred both during the day and at night.

A spokesperson said the measure is part of heightened security at defence sites, where the threat level has been raised. The academy said there are currently no plans for further measures at the castle, but did not rule them out.
