Aymen Sliti scored the opening goal as the Netherlands’ junior team defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 4–0 in Doetinchem on Tuesday night. The 20-year-old Excelsior player, described as a Feyenoord player, ended a run of 12 unsuccessful shots on goal and set his team on course for victory. The result sent the Netherlands into the European Championship play-offs. The team was coached by Michael Reiziger.

The Netherlands Under-21 team reached the play-offs for the 2027 European Championship after beating Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-0 in Doetinchem. The team needed a favourable result in Norway’s match against Israel as well. Norway drew 1-1 with Israel, allowing the Netherlands to move above Israel into second place in the group. Second place qualifies the Netherlands for the play-offs for the tournament in Albania and Serbia.
