James Cameron congratulated Marvel on Avengers: Endgame reportedly becoming the highest-grossing film of all time. The superhero film was said to have reached $2.9 billion in ticket sales after a September cinema re-release, titled Avengers: Endgame Encore, added four minutes of footage and generated further revenue, allowing it to overtake Cameron’s Avatar.

Avengers: Doomsday sets Dutch presale record

More than 27,000 tickets for Avengers: Doomsday were sold at Pathé within four hours for screenings in December, according to a cinema chain spokesperson. That matched the number sold for Avengers: Endgame in its first 24 hours, which had previously held the record at Pathé. The total later rose to 50,000 tickets sold in the Netherlands within 24 hours. Disney said this set a record for the presale of a film in the Netherlands.
