Assessment of Meta AI glasses for blind and visually impaired people

According to one report, Stefan Laureijssen of Visio, a centre of expertise for people with visual disabilities, said Meta’s AI glasses can help blind and visually impaired people with tasks such as reading a letter or identifying an item in a supermarket. He said their usefulness depends on the situation and on users’ technical skills, including their ability to keep the glasses and related app updated.

Laureijssen said the glasses may not provide useful audio information in noisy settings and can add to sensory overload. He also said they do not make users fit to drive, despite expectations some people have expressed about the technology.
