A woman was seriously injured in an assault at a party on Rhôneweg on Saturday morning. Police said a dispute between two women broke out at about 5.40am, after which a man intervened and struck the victim on the head with an object.

Police said aggressive guests had to be held back with batons as emergency services responded, and the suspect escaped in the confusion. They are seeking a tall, broad-built man aged about 30, with a dark complexion, who wore a white T-shirt and dark jeans. An earlier report identifying the event as an ADE party was corrected; it was not an ADE party.
