A woman was seriously injured after a man struck her on the head with an object during an altercation at a party on Rhôneweg in Amsterdam at about 5.40am. The altercation began between two women, after which the man intervened. She was taken to hospital.

Police responded to unrest at the venue and reported that the suspect fled. He is still being sought; police described him as a tall, broadly built man of about 30 with a dark complexion, wearing a white T-shirt and dark jeans. Reports said officers used batons to keep aggressive partygoers at a distance. One later report said the party was not connected to the Amsterdam Dance Event.
