Arrests at Moscow memorial protest organized by Communist Party

◆1 source

About 60 people were arrested by police during a memorial protest in Moscow organized by the Kremlin-minded Communist Party of the Russian Federation. Demonstrators carried photographs of people who died in the 1993 parliamentary uprising and held signs calling for the release of political prisoners, free elections and an end to the tsar. Police detained several people, particularly young demonstrators chanting slogans, and took them onto buses. People laid wreaths at a monument to the victims of the uprising and recited poems. The party said its Moscow branch was working to secure the release of those arrested.
