A man was arrested near the White House in Washington after Secret Service officers found three firearms, including a semiautomatic weapon, and dozens of rounds of ammunition in a vehicle reported stolen. He was detained on Constitution Avenue, south of the White House, on suspicion of weapons offenses and remains in federal custody.
The man, identified as Ronny Yordrix Guanipa Chrinos, reportedly told officers that voices in his head had ordered him to travel to the capital to kill President Donald Trump. He was described as Venezuelan and as having stayed in the United States illegally since March 2024. Trump has not commented on the incident.
