Arnhem café De Buik closes permanently

Café De Buik, a well-known venue in Arnhem, has closed permanently. It was known as a place where people continued their night after other establishments had closed, and where many visitors formed lasting memories. The café also attracted school-age youths and at one point opened during the day because so many of them gathered at the door.

A new owner has plans for the property and is expected to operate with different closing hours. Among the memories associated with De Buik are a manager with dyslexia and an incident in which a stove melted a regular customer's jacket. The trumpets on the ceiling were also left as a question surrounding the café's future.
