Professor of the Year 2026 Anneke Valk demonstrated how female soldiers urinate in the field and argued that differences between men and women should be considered more carefully. She said that many cases are tested only on men and then applied to women without difficulty, a practice she called “bikini science.” Valk has largely stopped teaching at Wageningen University to focus on reviewing knowledge about the female body.
