Angelique Verheij turns litter into artworks

Graphic designer Angelique Verheij from Castricum has been collecting litter found while walking her dog Pip and using it to create artworks, including a dress made from dog-waste bags. She said the work gives a positive direction to her irritation about rubbish left in the streets and highlights the contrast between waste used for minutes and materials that can persist for hundreds of years.
Her artworks are being exhibited as part of “Out Op Place” at the second-hand shop Small Squirrel. Verheij said she hopes to show the exhibition elsewhere and urged people to pick up litter when they find it, while saying she would be happy if there were no waste left to use for her art.
