It was reported that Spanish former cyclist Angel Arroyo died on Sunday at the age of 70 after a short illness. His hard-fought victory on the Puy de Dôme and eventual second place in the 1983 Tour de France were credited with putting Spain on the cycling map after years of limited prominence.
