Amsterdam is investigating whether fill-level sensors on waste containers could reduce waste accumulating around them. The sensors could signal when a container is full and needs emptying. The study followed questions from the VVD about the business case for equipping all containers with the sensors, their cost and potential savings from reducing unnecessary collections.
