Test of Amsterdam’s new metro network

The transit operator will test Amsterdam’s planned metro network on 14 and 15 November. Line 53 will not run during the test, while line 50 will operate between Gaasperplas and Isolatorweg. Lines 51, 52 and 54 will follow their usual routes, though passengers should expect a different timetable. The test is intended to assess train movements, turnbacks, passenger flows and transfers under busy conditions.

The new network is due to be introduced at the end of 2027, with a further test planned for March 2027. It will merge lines 50 and 53; under the planned numbering, M52 will become M1, M51 M2, the merged M50/M53 route M3, and M54 M4.
