Dutch judoka Amber Gersjes was eliminated in the repechage at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam in the women’s under-48-kilogram category. The world number 12 defeated Ersin of Turkey by waza-ari before losing her quarterfinal to Alijeva by waza-ari. Gersjes had reached the quarterfinal after a lengthy bout against Ghigliane.

Naomi van Krevel, ranked 17th in the world, lost her opening bout in the under-52-kilogram category to Italy’s Perna, who won by ippon after 61 seconds. Neither Dutch judoka won a medal at the tournament.
