Crowdfunding for Lilium, an alternative to the speculum commonly known as the duck beak, raised €223,210 from 8,421 donors. The design is to be completed and tested with patients and healthcare professionals.

The project is also examining how the new speculum could be used in healthcare systems in Europe, Kenya and South Africa.
