Eltjo Dijkhuis, an alderman of the municipality of Het Hogeland, said plans for a nuclear power plant in Eemshaven could have adverse economic consequences. He said the plans would lock the port for at least 10 to 15 years and argued that those consequences were being ignored by the national government.
