AI training tool for farmers facing criminal rental offers

Platform Safe Enterprise Central Netherlands has introduced Tony, an AI-generated criminal with whom agricultural entrepreneurs can practise responding to requests to rent barns, stables or sheds for illegal activity such as drug production. Users can hold an open AI-led conversation or follow multiple-choice scenarios, after which they receive feedback on their responses. The initiative involves LTO Noord and Cumela; one report also describes cooperation involving municipalities, police and justice authorities.

Pedro Bogerd of the platform said the aim is to help farmers end such conversations without making commitments or disclosing information. The reports cite research indicating that about one in 10 farmers nationwide, and one in five in the south, have been approached. Bogerd said initial reactions from farmers have been positive, including from experienced entrepreneurs who received tips from the exercise.
