Care organisation Zuyderland reported that aggression is also increasing in home care in Limburg. Home-care counsellors and district nurses are facing intimidation, verbal abuse and physical threats behind patients’ front doors, as well as tensions previously reported in hospitals.

The organisation said the issue is not limited to hospitals, where hardening aggression and recent bans had highlighted tensions in care. It urged home-care workers to remain vigilant.
