Advice on noise and vibration from proposed Haven-Stad public transport link

An expert opinion on an environmental impact report said Amsterdam municipality should set out measures to prevent or reduce noise and vibration if a public-transport link is built between Sloterdijk station, Haven-Stad and the city centre. It said the additional noise and vibrations should be assessed accurately in advance, including peak effects at switches, welds, crossings and bridges, which could cause nuisance or damage, particularly at UNESCO World Heritage sites.

It remains unclear whether the link will be built or whether it would use a train, metro or fast tram. The municipality plans at least 150,000 homes in Haven-Stad and will carry out further research in coming years.
