The A69 motorway between Toulouse and Castres in France was expected to open at the beginning of November after years of environmental protests. Opposition continued, with particular criticism focused on the toll: a return journey of more than 100 kilometres was reported to cost €17, making the A69 one of France’s most expensive motorways.
