A look back at forty years of change in Brabant

A historical look back described how Brabant changed over four decades. In Breda, traffic used to run through the city via the Franklin Rooseveltlaan until the highway was rerouted outside the city in 1989. Etten-Leur continued to carry through traffic until 1999. Other examples included the changing Marktveld in Vught, the opening of the bridge and A77 connection near Boxmeer in 1986, the expansion of Efteling and the decline of Tilburg’s textile industry.

Five historical photographs illustrated the changes. One showed the former Franken-Donders factory on Twentestraat in Tilburg, where modern homes now stand. In Breda, the courthouse moved from Kloosterlaan to Sluissingel in 1986 and then to Stationslaan in 2018; the former courthouse building now contains offices.
