De Remise, a communal housing project in Tilburg, was built for 24 households. Until a few years ago, most of the residents did not know one another. They live together for companionship and convenience, including the possibility of looking after each other. The project took a long time to get off the ground. Its residents said that no developer was interested in taking it on.
